Children’s Miracle Network: Hospital Visit

On Tuesday April 21, the men of Sigma Chi visited the Children’s hospital in Oklahoma City, where much of the donations for our upcoming Derby Days will be benefiting. The brothers had the pleasure of being guided by Children’s Miracle Network volunteer, Jennifer Jackson, who showed us the main floors of the hospital. Aside from being very informative, the tour and information session showed the brothers where our money will be going, and ultimately what the money raised will be benefiting.

Jackson, who works primarily with the hospital’s cancer patients, showed the brothers the NICU ward, the cancer ward, the newborn ward, and most importantly, told the brothers how they can volunteer further at the hospital. With this, the brothers have further plans to have groups volunteering days at the hospital’s cancer ward, where they will have “Arts and Crafts” days with the kids, as well as other days to spend with the Children’s cancer patients, giving them a day away from their trying disease, and giving the brothers’ a day of learning, growing, and giving back to those who are less fortunate than us.
